No one wants Stevenson there stinking the place up pretending he's going to fight two guys he openly ducked.

If Kovalev wins I hope he goes into full-on Duran in Montreal mode, and starts grabbing his nuts and calling Stevenson a faggot from his vantage point in the ring.Comment

For what? He openly ducked one and never had any intentions in fighting the other...WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (24-1, 20KOs) plans to be ringside on November 8th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, where Bernard Hopkins and Sergey Kovalev will battle in a unification for the WBA/IBF/WBO titles.
"I will be ringside on November 8 for the fight of Bernard Hopkins vs. Sergey Kovalev. I will fight the winner for the unification," Stevenson announced to his social network followers.

I really don't understand how anyone can argue a case for Kovalev in a Stevenson fight.
Stevenson has fought tactically better and physically stronger opposition. Stevenson is a more complete fighter than Kovalev. Stevenson doesn't simply attack until his opponent breaks down, he sets up his offense, while Kovalev simply walks down his opponents. Kovalev is constantly attacking which leaves him wide open for counters which he frequently gets nailed with. He has had the luxury of not fighting anyone with power as of yet but if he steps in there with Stevenson he is fighting someone that hits just as hard as he does. The aforementioned fighting style coupled with Stevensons generous speed advantage over Kovalev, creates a scenario in which logically Kovalev gets stop early from walking into heavy counter shots.
We know Adonis can counter faster than Kovalev can raise his gaurd, as we saw he set up and nail Dawson with hard counters to stop his attack. Not that he would need to be that fast because Krusher has piss poor defense. He does not move his head and keeps his hand way too low after he lets off shots, he just doesn't bring them up enough to effectively protect him self from a faster fighter that can ****.
Stevenson ends it inside five rounds. Adonis can matches Kovalev in strength which is all he has going for him in this fight. He is not the better boxer of the two leaving him nothing to fall back on. To win Kovalev has to land a knock out shot, but more than likely.....he gets krushed.Comment

I think kovalev is just a little better all around but they are pretty closely matched. its a damn shame Stevenson doesn't believe enough in himself to have taken the fight. reminds me of bowe with lewisI really don't understand how anyone can argue a case for Kovalev in a Stevenson fight.

Stevenson is a plodder. Slow on his feet, bad defense, weak chin, bad stamina. He just got pushed to the limit with Fonfara, who landed shots that Kovalev lands with much more authority, and Fonfara landed whenever he had the guts to throw. Kovalev is actually the better boxer.... Stevenson is an unskilled brawler by comparison.I really don't understand how anyone can argue a case for Kovalev in a Stevenson fight.

Who has Stevenson beat? Fonfara? Karpecny was outboxing the guy before he pulled out due to injury. The corpse of Dawson? Bellew? Cloud? LOL Cleverly alone is better than Stevenson's list of opponents.Last edited by Foreign Soil; 10-08-2014, 11:29 PM.Comment

Boone actually fought them both, he picked Kovalev to KO Stevenson. Let's not forget, he KO'd Adonis in dos rounds.I really don't understand how anyone can argue a case for Kovalev in a Stevenson fight.

Who is the better opposition Stevenson fought? You wanna say Dawson, well he didn't even last a round so it's not indicative of all that much.Comment

You can try and discredit any of Stevenson high profile wins all you want.
The fact still remains he has beaten the better opposition, seasoned top ten fighters on his resume fact and that won't change.
I don't care what Boone did, Lennox Lewis got dropped by Rhaman and you know what happened to him. Wladomir has been dropped by less than stellar fighters as well. That loss was an anomaly, that was avenged in impressive fashion.
There is not one thing that Kovalev does as good or better than Stevenson. He isn't faster, and he can't counter well. He does not have better foot work or defense. He doesn't even have a power advantage as Stevenson can **** as well.Comment
