    This ^

Cotto uses TR on a fight by fight bases to promote his fights ever since his contract with them expired.

Look at the 1st fight, cotto had different gloves. it wasn't an issue.

Look, I get it, you want Canelo to replace Floyd as the man in the sport. . My take-the language barrier is significant, especially when dealing with the causal (middle class white American) fans that make the difference in PPV sales.

All I'm suggesting is Canelo needs cotto way more than cotto needs him. EVen with cotto he may not get May 5th date. Without cotto does he even have a compelling PPV matchup other than GGG-which I doubt he takes now.

A free agent he is, but when it comes time to fight his promotional name holds no weight as its just a name and not an actual company. This is why he uses Top Rank to promote him when its time to fight. He isnt contracted to TR. He just uses them on a fight by fight basis.

I'm a huge Cotto fan. Far from a hater. With that said, having a website and banners hung at your fights does not make you a licensed promoter. Listen carefully next time Cotto fights. They will announce the head promoter then say "in association with cotto promotions". The head promoter is the one with the actual license to promote fights.

If Cotto Promotions is an actual promotional company, then why give up money to Bob Arum to promote your fights instead of doing it yourself?

Cotto Promotions is no different than Mayweather promotions prior to Floyd actually getting licensed to promote. This is why Floyd has always used GBP to promote his fights. He never had a license up until just recently.

That was before he discovered MX was causing all these deaths in boxing. He was naive back then no way he allows that to happen anymore, same as the drug testing he hasn't looked back.

And don't assume anything I could care less if he replaced Floyd all I'm interested in is seeing him fight the best and that means a Cotto fight.

that's what i'm saying, canelo has done better than cotto, canelo did better against Floyd, look at cotto's numbers against mayorga and Judah, both under 300k,look it up,and remember when canelo fought anuglo both were coming off losses, when he fought lara, lara was a nobody in terms of fans and it wasn't a championship fight, only difference is cotto has done more ppv's that's it,look at canelo when he fougth the night Chavez/Martinez did,a lot of people went to his fight and it was up against one of the biggest fights of the year in Chavez/Martinez,canelo brings fans, more than what cotto has,i say this because this is probably what cotto is talking about, the ppv fights he's had,he's had more, not really better results, yeah he's the champion but so was Martinez and he made a big deal out of wanting to come outfirst and what not,he better realize canelo isn't just any fighter, yeah he might not be skilled like others but i'm talking about popularity, bringing money, that was proven in the Floyd fight, canelo brings fans, money, and cotto better understand that
