Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya is interested in staging a major event in Washington, D.C. and has two potential fights in mind.
"I'm excited about returning to D.C, why not make Peterson-Khan or Peterson-Garcia," De La Hoya stated to the Washington Post.
Amir Khan (29-3, 19KOs) lost a controversial twelve round split decision to Lamont Peterson (33-2-1, 17KOs) at the Convention Center in D.C. in December 2011. After the loss, Khan vowed never to fight in the city again.
