As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (44-1-1, 31KOs) injured his ankle and withdrew from his scheduled return on December 6th.
Canelo, who fought his last five fights on Showtime, recently signed a multi-year contract with HBO. He was scheduled to face former welterweight champion Joshua Clottey on the date, with a May 2015 showdown looming with WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto.
