Lets look at his loses. He beat Tito, he won the rematch with Sugar Shane and landed a 120 more punches then Sugar Shane and lost. Was beating Hopkins till he got shocked to the lever.
Pac, yes made a 144lb on fight night Oscar look like **** but anybody would have and well past prime at that.

So really the only defeats that were good against him, Hopkins and 1st Shane fight. Oh and the fight with Oscar vs Felix Sturm as Oscar lost clearly and recieved a gift decision.

Haymon had a vision a few years ago, and he executed with a very smart plan.

Sneak in as a manager, become their trusted advisor. Do the most you can for them in these years in order to gain their trust and loyalty. All of these guys talk very highly of Haymon and it is because he has made sure they have been paid nicely. He acts as their friend, as a person who looks out for them and the fighters have followed like sheep (with good reason).

HOWEVER, expect things to change once Haymon gets his feet planted on the promoting business (at least 3-4 years into it). He'll just become like any other promoter, but this was his way of breaking into a tough market that was/is mostly dominated by two companies. It is VERY hard for small promoters like Dibella and such to have as much impact as TR and GB, so imagine how hard it would be for a new promoter. Haymon built his reputation and slowly gathered support by sneaking into one of the most influential positions in any work field, manager/advisor.

I tip my hat off to him, because as a fellow entrepreneur (we are always thinking of new ideas/concepts of how to break into different markets successfully), you can't help but to admire his strategy and vision.

Damn in that sig it looks like Maidana figured out Floyd a lil because I've seen Floyd throw that punch numerous times but no one has ever clocked him like that while he threw it.
