Hes over rated in the heavyweight
      division.
Beating a shot Holyfied and a no name Booker is not enough to make Toney a great contender in the HW division. He has a lot to prove before he can be considered as such. Time is not on his side, so he should start quick now.

i say put him uin with Ruiz and see if he can do a better job than RJ. That should provide us with some sort of answer.

i think toney can beat some of the big unskilled guys like mccline, brewster, etc.. but he'll have a hard time with byrd, VK or someone of that caliber...

he's really unproven at heavy and with his age, size and injuries he may not become a factor....

            re

Based on his wins at HW Toney is overrated a bit. But based on the skills we see him display in the ring he's right about where he belongs. The HW division really sucks.

And you're right, Tyson isn't anything anymore
He can't expect to sit out so long
And then come back and win a title, not happening
Mike Tysons career is finished, he will lose his next fight
And then will realize it's time to hang up the gloves

                  a real contender yet.
Are you trying to say that Tyson is a real contender?
Tyson WAS a real contender, you're caught in the 80's
Mike Tyson is, and will always be a boxing legend
But he's going to turn out like Holyfield,
And not know when it's time to stop...
My question is, when Mike Tyson retires from the sport
Which boxer is going to be your next choice Mike Tyson Jr.?

Some people seem to believe that James Toney is the man.

Why? Is it the WBC "Continental Americas Heavyweight" and IBA "Heavyweight Champ" titles? Or that whopping he put on the aging Evander? Or, could it be I missed something during that Jirov bout? Recently though, he got my attention with his domination of ...... Danny Green, now that's impressive.

Really though, Toney had his day from 1991 to 94, notably against Barkley, but those are the 'ole days. He needs to beat "somebody", soon.

I agree the guy has hardly done anything at heavweight.
