Yeah man. Everyone who followed the Pacquiao vs Marquez series knew each and every time they were both taking a huge risk by getting in the ring with each other. Lucky for us as boxing fans, that dudes like Marquez and Pacquiao are willing to risk themselves for our entertainment.

Cool thing about Floyd is that he isn't willing to take the same risks as Pacquiao and Marquez. You see it in his opponent selection and in the way he fights. Just an all around cautious and careful guy.

This is the fight that made Arum run for the hills. The drug tests and the ****** American Public gave him a way out of the first negotiations. Been running and trying to heist the news cycles ever since. Manny has never passed the Marquez test. Why would Arum put him in with FMJ? He would not, and won't. Simple common sense.

Marquez had zero business in the ring with Floyd. It was like watching Wayne Gretzky skate around somebody who had never set foot on ice before. The disparities in footspeed and athleticism were separated by light years. Another uneventful distance control showcase from Floyd.

You're right, he doesn't select world beaters like Algieri. Or do you mean like fighting Mosley & Cotto in situations where Pac wouldn't? I see your point!

That is such BS. If Manny was truly taking a risk, he would not have waited so many years in between each fight with JMM. The first fight spooked them and they were avoiding JMM. There hope was that JMM would get old or that Manny skill/power would take JMM out as he got older. The last fight was the best Manny has ever looked against JMM and he still failed the test.

Roach basically admitted this after the 3rd fight!

I would call those legit non cherry picks

Algieri represents everything Pacquiao was always accused of avoiding. Young, hungry, mover, good jab, undefeated etc. And just like you said, Algieri isn't in the same situations as world beaters like Cotto or Mosley were in.

I happen to think Algieri has the tools everyone was saying Pacquiao has problems with. I'm looking forward to the match up of their styles. Many people have grown so accustomed to matches where it's all about how much money the B-Side can make for the A-Side. It's actually quite nice that Pacquiao vs Algieri is free of all financial drama and theatrics.
