Thurman is on the rise but I'm pretty sure he isn't going to be THE MAN in the future..

I think he will be a good action fighter, and at best be a Diego corrales type career or at worst be Joel Julio

He's got a helluva weapon at WW, that power is imo unrivalled. Allied to movement he becomes formidable. But, someone always comes along to dethrone the champ (assuming the champ does what he's supposed to and fights everyone of course).

I kno im harsh on Thurman but its only because he's speaking as though he is Iron Mike which he really isn't.

Watch his fights against Soto and Chaves, he panics so bad when he gets caught, even Diaz hurt him and he didnt know what to do. Now imagine a guy like Maidana, Porter or even Danny Garcia watch Thurman panic after being clocked... they would end his night no doubt.

An untested, unproven prospect that hasn't accomplished anything to get all the hype that he has. Don't do this to yourselves again, guys. Russell was supposed to be this unbeatable monster, Porter was supposed to be this unbeatable monster, Broner was supposed to be this unbeatable monster. You guys are too excitable and easily impressed.
Nobody is saying Thurman is an unbeatable monster but at the same time, it's not his fault the top guys won't even try to beat him. If Thurman really is getting more hype than he deserves, then I'm sure a lot of other boxers would be running over each other just to be the first to prove it. Hardly anybody wants to do that. The only name that comes up is Devon and that just RECENTLY happened.

You must didn't watch those fights. After Soto Karass caught him, Thurman kept his cool and recovered in like 2 or 3 seconds. There's no way anybody can do that in a panic. Diaz never hurt Thurman at all either.

If you want an example of a boxer who panics so bad after getting caught, then look at Devon Alexander. Despite having a decent chin, those punches he takes visibly hurt him and it's like he loses focus for most of the fight. He even panics if what he's doing isn't completely working. This was shown in the Bradley, Porter, and Soto Karass fights. Thurman stays calm and that's why he was able to still beat Chaves and Soto Karass.

Keith Thurman looks very promising and maybe he is the best at 147 in the future. He has some good KO wins but he needs to beat a top 5 world rated welterweight like Brook or Maidana to really make his case as the best welterweight in the world. Mayweather hasn't retired yet. Bradley and Pacquiao are both damn good and might beat him as well. Why would he need to go to middleweight? He looks very strong at 147 and he is a grown man, not a growing boy.

Thurman has that IT factor, along with an awesome style to go with it. I think 2015 will be a big year for him.

At 154 I can see Cotto, Canelo or Lara giving him a boat load of problems. Thurman is not all that hard to hit although he has a good defense and a good chin. He has been knocked down by a guy that can't hit as hard as Canelo or Cotto and he has never fought a guy with Cotto's jab or Canelo's power and body punching.
