The IBF mandatory challenger says the champion is making all sorts of excuses already and has even promised to fight for less than the title defence ruling.
DeGale is now part of the Matchroom stable and is on the bill of Cleverly v Bellew II up in Liverpool on Novenber 22, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
The 28-year-old's opponent - a "former world-title challenger" - will be announced on Wednesday, but there is no chance it is going to be the IBF and WBC super-middleweight champion.
"Carl Froch doesn't want to fight me," DeGale told Ringside.
"He is making every excuse not to fight me and, if I was him, I wouldn't fight me either because when he loses to me - and loses well - his credibilty, his ego and his legacy would all be damaged.

"If I was him I would retire and give up and just swerve it because he's going to lose.
"The IBF ruling is 75%-25% (champion-challenger) and I've even said I'll take less money; 15%, whatever percent, let's just get the fight on."
DeGale insists it is not about the money and is adamant that he will become the first British Olympic gold medalist to win a world title.
He says his adviser Abrose Mendy is "pestering" Eddie Hearn to get him a big fight against big-name, experienced and tough opponents.
"I want to be in real fights, I want to be tested," he said. "I need it." [Click Here To Read More]
