I kept waiting for Klitschko-Lewis to get close....

It's been along time and keep hearing this was a close fight....and I kept waiting for it to get close: I JUST finished watching it on YouTube, therefore do not try and refute with your 11-year old memory, go back and watch the fight. It was a white-wash going into the 6th round with Lewis only winning one round.

Don't get me wrong, Lewis landed a few bombs, BUT THATS IT.

    Not a close fight.

    The tide was turning man.
I have no doubt Lewis would have closed the show on Vitali....

    Awaits Elroy1 and Welchmertz's entry.....

Bruh. The tide wasn't turning. I just said go back and watch the fight and not to refute with 11-year old memory.

      You didn't listen.

In your opinion. I've seen it many times thanks.
        Vitali lost by legit tko.
He probably deserved a rematch, but Lewis felt no motivation to offer him one.
        Game over, move on.

I watch the fight occasionally, I think Vitali was up 4-2 after six. There could even be an argument for 3-3. I think Lewis clearly landed the better punches and opened up Vitali's face 3 different places - so he must have landed something.

I'd take nothing away from Vitali, he was the fresher fighter on the night and threw/landed more punches. However, the last two rounds he was buckled on multiple ocassions incl. that monster uppercut that probably would have knocked out any other heavyweight in the world at that stage.

Lewis looked really tired, but after a shaky couple of opening rounds he turned it up a notch, I don't see how that can be disputed.

However, I have to ask what the point of this thread is? Because it's clear that Vitali was in no position to continue, even though he wanted to.

Too early to deduce anything. After six rounds, Mayweather-Judah looked close too. In this case, the tide was turning in Lewis' favor. But more important, the outcome made however close it was irrelevant.

Old fat lewis did more damage, landed the more hurtful shots and stopped prime Vitali in six rounds.

I'm going off a 2 month old memory.

Lewis was turning the tide. It was far from a whitewash.
