Go on google and type the most frequently mentionned athletes on the web and you wont see Djokovic`s name before Mayweathers. Fact is most people who dont follow tennis dont know who he is either. And Murray is only a big name because hes UK`s favorite. Just like Ricky Hatton was before being knocked out by Floyd

Why are people surprised that he's not a household name in the UK? I'd be surprised if hes a household name in the US... he's not some ultra famous celebrity is he really, hes just an American celebrity, not a global one

Only people who really follow boxing know who Mayweather is, and a lot of UK fans probably don't care or know much about the guy.

I think i've personally met more brits who know who Pacquiao is, because of his destruction of Hatton with 1 memorable punch. But thats only my experience

If you are from Europe then you will know that no one knows Mayweather either, both Klitschkos are by far the more known fighters in mainland Europe East or West. Its enough to bring up "Ukraine" and people say "Oh Klitschko Klitschko"

Mayweather is an American celebrity. There is no reason for people to know him outside of US. He has zero endorsements and no one watches his fights live there because 1) No PPV 2) Its 5AM there no one is waking up to watch anything at that time.
