won the IBF featherweight strap (albeit controversially)

fought the best of his era, including Romero, Barrera, Ayala, and Konadu (very underrated)

Yes and to reiterate:

Lets keep in mind the two losses to Ayala were robberies.....nobody in their right state of mind having watched the fights; would think Ayala won.

He was robbed outright against Archuleta in the first fight.

By the time he faced barrera...he was old and washed up and that victory really did not count IMO.
