I, as a mexican, agree with you 100..... I get mad that my compatriots have turned Canelo into the "face" of mexican boxing and totally have no clue who Carlos Molina is, the 154 IBF champion, in my opinion the best mexican fighter at 154-160, i know i know convicted pedophile but in the ring he's a great fighter..........in my opinion the face of mexican boxing is Juan Francisco "El Gallo" Estrada.........Canelo is young so I hope this is a developmental process and in the future faces the elite fighters in whatever division he's fighting at

This is no cherry pick. Canelo just fought the guy just about everybody thought was #1 in Lara and even though it could have went either way, Lara didn't do enough to beat the star in his territory.
Clottey is very durable and Canelo could gas a bit trying to get past that turtle shell defense and this fight could get very interesting.

I like this fight too since I dont think itll be easy for either guy... they are both counter-punchers after all.
If Canelo decides to open up like he did with Angulo, then he's going to get tagged with sharp counters, guarantee.

Clottey is not Kirkland or Andrade but he has never been KO'ed and has a decent career. This in not a title fight and/or not PPV. Maybe Alvarez needed a little break or maybe Oscar wants him to take a low risk fight because in 2015 there would be very though fights ahead.

I don't get why people are in such an outrage. Canelo's had a great run, and this is pretty much a stay busy fight. It's not like Clottey is a bum either. He's a damn good fighter. Plus it's on regular HBO. People need to chill out.
