I suspect you know the answer to that. Fifty went into a nuclear bomb fight with a rice paper fan....Its understandable to overestimate your chops....Hell we all do it, but sometimes you really have to smarten up and know when to take notes...Fifty severly overestimated his abilities.
Boxing promotion is a place reserved for the most cunning monkeys...you have to be viscious, smart as sh111t and ruthless....Arum and King are a lot of things but ****** has never been one of them. De La Hoya? Oscar is a sociopath par excellente! These guys do well because of a combination of traits, most of them make more in boxing than being a CEO or a politicialn....Fifty didn't realize that, he actually called Oscar out thinking Floyd....who will get hamonized as a promoter, would get his back.
The music industry can be hard and ruthless also, but the IQ doesn't have to reach as high. Those guys are connected and do what they are told is all, fifty forgot that. The difference between Suge Knight and Don King....you feel me? Suge is no dope, but he is the muscle and does what he is told....King? different order of magnitude entirely. King is a real stone cold killer... So the bottom line is that Fifty went into deep water and got his azz drowned.
