maybe i'm missing something, but i think you're combining the careers of juanma lopez and yuriorkis gamboa.

juanma is probably the best recent example. he has nothing left. at his peak, he was a polished offensive fighter with great power and leaky defense. his chin wouldn't let him down the way it does now. he'd take bombs, and look hurt, but he'd finish fights, even coming back strong i nsome cases.

now, he's unable to take punches he used to eat for breakfast, and losing quickly to fighters he'd handle in his prime.

Erik Morales getting KO by Danny Garcia. He still busted Danny's face in the first fight though.

Well, they were both past their primes at that point.

You beat me to it! lol My reaction was also the same when Martinez got dropped.

I think Matthew Macklin needs to retire. . . granted he did win his last fight but still.

I was sitting watching the De La hoya Pacquiao fight and even though i'm not a huge fan of his,all people involved with De La Hoya looked distraught. That's what made me start the thread.

I co-sign what NE said about Juanma, dude was one of my favorites back in the day.I believe i even told my friends he's the next crossover star lol.Sh.it was painful watching him against Cuellar.

oh yea.. haha.. I mixed those guys up ALL the time for some reason..

Yea, Juanma is who I was thinking.

He's a perfect example of a guy that just doesnt have it and is sad to watch.
