Well let's play a game. Name GOOD boxers that aren't nearing the end of their careers that aren't with Haymon. Cotto, Pacquiao, Ward, Marquez, and Golovkin are are old by boxing standards so don't list them.Comment

I'm glad you were able to come up with 4 fights in the past 2 years the public wanted. With a roster loaded with just about 50+ of the top fighters.
4 fights.... And for me only 3. I didn't sign up for Mayweather to potshot a limited power puncher, Maidana. That wasn't by my choice. And to think they did it twice.Comment

Maybe you're just upset that two Haymon guys beat Canelo? Floyd and Lara. Does that have anything to do with your biased look at things?I'm glad you were able to come up with 4 fights in the past 2 years the public wanted. With a roster loaded with just about 50+ of the top fighters.

Cotto, Pacquiao and Marquez are near the end. Ward and Golovkin are not, the latter says he'll be around for at least 5 more years.
Anyhow there are loads but I'll stick to marketable fighters:
Frampton, Lomachenko, Walters, M.Garcia, Crawford, Algieri, Brook, Andrade, Canelo, Golovkin, Khytrov, DeGale, Kovalev, Beterbiev, Mekhontsev, Huck, Usyk, Makabu and most of the HW division.
All these guys will be around for years to come.
Khan, Matthysse, Maidana, Mayweather, Dawson, Stevenson, Bika, Collazo, Lara, Taylor, Berto etc all close to the end.
Looking to the future he's only really got Thurman, Porter and Santa Cruz. Swift will find it tough at WW.Last edited by Weebler I; 09-29-2014, 07:30 PM.Comment

matthysse/garcia and porter/brook were mandatories. haymon doesn't get credit for fights that were forced upon him. maidana/broner was a fight between 2 fringe guys. not really that great. maidana/mayweather? just lolComment

Actually hope it fails. Boxing should never be governed under one banner. Jay Z does need to weaken Haymon a bit, so Don King get bolster himself in to the mix. The now weakened GB promotions with one fighter might get a surprise joint business with Mayweather Promotions. Mayweather is going to need that Manny P. fight and only promote it for himself. Mayweather needs to ct off Haymon ASAP because I think Haymon outgrew Mayweather and Mayweather needs to take away some of that power he gave the man.Last edited by Slick Veteran; 09-29-2014, 07:45 PM.Comment

Let me explain very quickly to you why this is terrible. UFC is a failure and dying because the way it is. Boxing is a respected sport and if boxing goes down the path like UFC and simply just focuses on entertainment then it will all blow up in their face. This is a competition sport where pride is most prevalent. Haymon's prima donnas focus entirely on match ups that only benefit them and stray from taking risks. It's obvious to boxing fans that Haymon just gets in the way of fights that the fans want. The most annoying thing is Haymon's fighters dodge any sort of questions that they don't want to answer by hiding behind the old "Al Haymon is my advisor and has done a great job with my career". Haymon's background is promoting entertainers and boxers are much different breed then simply entertainers. And for your opinion regarding the positives of having one network for boxing would be the worst thing to ever happen to the sport. UFC has a stranglehold on the MMA sport and without rival networks MMA will only be as good as UFC makes it. And believe me MMA's future is looking bleak. Because there is other networks we don't have to put up with the bull and drama from Haymon advised fighters. Whether this Haymon promotions comes into fruition on NBC it will be clear that yes haymon has most of the popular guys right now but this BS cherry picking formula he has will destroy itself. Haymon will have the viewership and most of the top draws but when the younger audience he is targeting leave him high and dry, then haymon will either wash his hands with boxing or change tactics. Even the dumbest age bracket and viewers will catch on to the fake personas and 0 substance most of these guys have. At the end of the day HBO has my respect and I hope they stay true with representing the sport they so correctly have done in the past years.I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about but don't you think this is a good thing? People often complain about how Haymon guys don't fight each other, but with all of this coming to tuition I think we will see more of a UFC-like takeover in boxing. Imagine if boxing was just "boxing", not divided into different categories? Like when you think pro wrestling you think WWE. When you think MMA fighting you think UFC. When you think boxing, you are forced to think Showtime, HBO, Top Rank, Golden Boy, Haymon, Arum. It just never made any sense to me.Comment
