The beef was mainly between Dan and Andre. Those left in charge of the company will come together and work something out with him.

We'll see Ward in the ring again soon.

lol at people getting all bent out of shape because goosen died (yes its horrible condolences to his family) and posters are asking an important boxing related question. the political correctness in this country is nauseating. this is a pertinent question and im glad its being asked and talked about.

        there's nothing disrespectful about it.

          A coupla things:

There is nothing disrespectful about asking this question!!! in fact it is like that elephant in the middle of the room, so why censor that conversation? Ridiculous and even people like New England who should know better are saying this crap?

One of the problems is precisely what some of you have alluded to....this was partially personal meaning that things may well change. It all depends on the ability of the company to function....Goosen was one of the Keys, which is actually an insurance term, it means that his value was such that the very business may well depend upon it.

Obviously if the company is, as was, then things will continue with the dispute. Goosen's partner is another variable.

Goosen's untimely passing is a tragedy, his promotional company is a seperate legal entity...one that unfortunately depended a great deal on him. This will create a very curious scenerio regarding Ward.

I hope I am not insulting some of our more sensative members when I say "I hope so."

If so let me offer and maybe we can all have a cry, watch sad movies and talk about how men are incouragable?

Well.....There is a possability that without Dan the company will not be able to perform....It is a very real possability actually. If Ward is particularly "determined" for lack of a better term he could even argue impossibilty of performance because the promotional activities of the group were based on Gossen's name, talents and actions.

lets say you buy a Steinway paino, and Steinway is still around....He dies before completing the paino and the business says it will still deliver a steinway paino, can they? Can you say its not a steinway under the conditions?

A lot depends on what the contract actually says I would imagine.

Ward would still barely fight even if he had the green light. Sorry to put a damper on the Ward fans' relief of Goossen's passing.

                  Statement from Ward:

"I was deeply saddened to learn the news of Dan Goossen's passing early this morning. My thoughts and prayers have been with Dan and his family since I received the news of his illness last week. While Dan and I recently had our professional struggles, he was a great man, father and husband. He will be greatly missed by the boxing community. I will continue to keep the Goossen family in my prayers."

people would have paid their condolences to goossen on the appropriate article. Dont see what the problem is if you wana talk about Ward on here. How long should one wait? 2 days? 2 weeks? 2 months? People just love to be offended by everything and love jumping on their high horse as quick as they can. They probably dont feel anything for Goossen but just want the opportunity to use his passing away as a way of putting other posters down. Thats even more sad.
