Some of these guys (Maidana, Bradley, Alexander, etc) can make it back on the list provided we cannot find anyone better to surpass them in the list. That's how these types of lists are compiled.

That's 2/5. I'm not sold on Bradley or Maidana for TOP 5. Def tough though. And someone just shot down Alexander so...keep going.
Apart from that abomination against Marquez, who has really hurt Pacquiao at welterweight? Oscar? No. Cotto, one of the hardest and most skilled punchers at the weight barely made him blink. Clottey, for all his flaws, hits damn hard but barely made Pac think twice. Rios didn't do anything to Pac...I dunno, he has to be in the top 5.

Guys like Porter or Guerrero don't cut it for me cos they haven't proven their toughness at 147 against the very best guys who hit hard. Porter took some shots against Brook but Brook, for all his punching abilities, isn't a monstrous puncher.

Bta how can you not have bradley up there after the shots he took against Pac AND Prov????

Kell Brook seems pretty tough to me

Good points. Who else agrees on Pac in the top 5? I'm okay with that.

Also, I didn't necessarily say Bradley ISNT in the top 5, I just wasn't okay with throwing him in there without careful evaluation.

Maidana and marquez are very similar. Pac dropped marquez a bunch of times in their first fight, ortiz dropped maidana a bunch of times. Marquez has also been dropped by katsidis and alvarado. Maidanas been dropped by khan. But both marquez and maidana recover VERY QUICKLY.

I know, it's a tough choice with only 5 names, considering welter is a pretty decent division these days.

You make solid points but a lot of the fights you talk about took place outside of the division, does that count?
