A close fight doesn't mean you will have close cards.
      Do you accept this?
Yeah u can have a fight where every round was tight but one guy edged them all, that wasn't this though...

most pundits are ex fighters and most of them are rubbish

the best judges and refs are the ones who have never fought

so i am glad you got "robbed"

you should have never got the title shot anyway
"Glad" of a robbery??? Me too their great for boxing....

In your opinion. And given the subjective nature of judging it shouldn't be such a shock that someone else could have it differently.
There is quite a wide opinion on here alone.
Now I'm not suggesting there are never suspect cards.
I just wish we could move away from a response which blames judges promotors alike and instead focuses on how scoring systems could be improved and made statistically more robust!

Fight was a lot closer than the scorecards but I saw Abraham as the clear winner in a close 115 - 113 fight. ****, didn't the media score 30 - 9 in favour of Abraham? The scorecards were ridiculously wide but this was no way a robbery.

Depends how you define a robbery. It wasn't a robbery in the sense that Abraham has a good case for legitimately winning the fight. I had it a draw personally. I don't think anyone has claimed it was a robbery in that sense.

The scorecards though suggest that Smith was never going to be given the decision regardless of how the fight went so in that sense, he was "robbed"

I've always defined 'robbery' as the clear winner not getting the decision, such as Rios - Abril. I don't think Smith did enough to be a clear winner on Saturday, some scored the fight for him but most had it for Abraham and others had a draw. It was one of those fights, although close, I thought Abraham was the clear winner but wouldn't have cried robbery if it was a draw or went to Smith. I would disagree but no way call it a robbery.

I see what you're saying and the judges scores were way off but that's more Smith being an unlucky victim of poor judging than actually being 'robbed.' I would've called it a robbery if I thought Smith clearly won the fight.

Being a boxing fan is funny because it's like we grow to accept and expect horrific score cards depending on where the fight is held.
