Nope. When Team Maidana turned him down, it was a couple years ago I believe. And when he did that at the time, it was understandable. Thurman had much more to gain, while Maidana had more to lose.

besides, maidana wasn't supposed to beat broner, he was there to be beaten up by him, it was a cherry pick gone wrong.

Look, as much as I don't like Broner, let's be honest, that wasn't a cherry pick. After the Paulie fight, Broner let the fans choose his next opponent to prove that he WASN'T cherry picking. Matthysse had the most votes but he had a match with Garcia coming up so that left Maidana as the next best choice.

I still don't get this forum where you can't like both fighters, its either maidana is a bum or Thurman has a glass Jaw. (that goes for a lot of fights and fighter on here).

I personally don't understand how you can't be a fan of either fighter, both very entertaining. I thinks its a really tough fight to call, both can hurt the other at any time, there's doubts about Thurman as he hasn't been in a dog fight vs a guy like Maidana, but then again Thurman could end Maidana with his devastating power.

He never mentions Devon Alexander! It is getting a tad annoying that he keeps calling out guys who he is definitely willing to fight but are unlikely to choose him. Meanwhile, Devon called him out, is a solid B level fighter, and would be a huge step up. He beats Devon impressively and he will be thought of much differently.

Wrong. Thurman himself already said that he doesn't have an official opponent yet. Heck, Roberto Garcia's own page doesn't even have Thurman's name listed on his record.

I really like Thurman but his fans put me against him...They just can't understand what a tune up fight means. Soto Karass was a tune up fight for Chino. Maybe they don't understand it because Soto Karass was Thurman's best win...it's like they want to add to Thurman's record in boxrec "he almost fought Chino in 2012"...
