Also money wasn't the issue, Maidana's people said Thurman has too many KOs or some bull**** like that

i don't remember reading he agreed to the fight, what i read is that thurman was one of the options and contursi and maidana's team wanted a tune up fight.

Thurman has shown a stronger chin than Maidana. Maidana been dropped by someone with 3 KOs, got dropped 3 times by the bum Ortiz.

It was a duck but context has to be used as there are good reasons for the cancellation of the fight.

Thurman IMO should not have even been an option for a comeback fight after a career worst performance vs Devon. 115K (according to fan Dan) on a Broner under card vs a dangerous looking opponent with no name (this was his first Live TV fight) would have been a high risk / low reward fight.

Fighting Karras for more money in an easier fight was the sensible move, they would have been ****** to take the Thurman fight, i even posted that on here in 2012 ha. Its worked out well for Maidana and the Thurman fight can still happen, its a big fight now IMO.

That doesn't answer my question. Knowing that Alexander beat Maidana, why did Thurman's team offered the fight to Maidana, the loser, and not to the winner, Alexander? It seemed idiotic to even want to fight a loser, then claim he's ducking. Any more info you could supply?
