I feel Thurman is not ready for Maidana just yet, he needs to gain more experience. Madiana is a new developed beast under Robert Garcia as trainer, I don't think he will be able to handle him at the present moment, but he shouldn't fight him until he gets more experience against stiffer competition to move up the latter than fight Maidana.
