They're probably in a financial rut where there's no easy fix.

Espinoza and Schaefer started with a business model thinking that PPVs will solve all of SHO's financial needs. (Even Kathy Duva of Main Events had noticed this distinction as compared to HBO's in one of the articles I've read relating to the lawsuit.)

Turned out that their main cash cow, which has a huge appetite for money, is just there to be fed with millions of dollars.

You probably recall the Maidana/Broner fight that got almost made into a PPV card. Don't really know what happened there, why they didn't push for it.

This is a SERIOUS blow to fans!!! They had 10-0, 15-0, 18-1, 12-1, 19-0 fighters going against each other!!!! Prospects vs prospects! What would you rather see, pampered kittens on some other network like Jesse Magdaleno going against another hapless, helpless gravy-train 18-14 or 19-12 record fighter in yet another showcase setup???? Or Jose Benavidez going against some hapless, helpless gravy-train 16-8 or 16-14 record fighter in another showcase setup??? I think the *** not!

These prospects are the ones trying to build in this sport and if they arent that good then fine they are still the ones who will go on to fight the superstars or blue-chip prospects. ATG, HOF, up to today, fighters have their records filled with these type of guys. Shobox at least we got to see these guys before and can get somewhat excited for the future matches.

Im a fan of the sport and in a perfect world superstar will fight superstar every fight but we dont live in one. Ill take more over less of this sport anyday
Yup, it's not easy building these fighters without being able to get them proper competition and exposure. ShoBox has had at least 15 world champs who have fought there as young prospects...and a lot of times it would be against other YOUNG fighters. Unknowns, but good records and prime. I love that recipe in a matchup..I hope maybe the show can be revamped, moved and relaunched and get back to that philosophy

Huge blow to TMT fighters, unless they're willing to switch to ESPN.

He said this before the ppv even started. Does he really sound like an unbiased source?

@RickGlaser1: Hearing that Stephen Espinoza is silent on Twitter, he'll be screaming with vulgar language next week when I put out the "real" PPV number!

@RickGlaser1: Fight Night & tickets so dead that the homeless are turning down free tickets, & PPV numbers are tanking badly! #Mayhem

@RickGlaser1: And now, what you all have been waiting for, I'm issuing a very firm "don't buy" on tonight's #Showtime #Floyd Mayweather #Mayhem PPV.
