I still like cloud and will be pulling for him but his last few fights have been unimpressive. IDK much about this guy but I doubt his handlers would make this fight if they didn't think he could win, especially at this stage of his career.

Cloud is durable, but not as good as his ranking suggests. Still, a very good fight for Beterbiev to have so soon.
I expect him to overcome Cloud in the late rounds (8-12) but wouldn't be suprised by a mid-round stoppage.
Should be a good fight while it lasts.Comment

I know that he was a succesfull amateur but I won't lose my shit because of that. Lomachenko was arguably the greatest amateur in modern boxing (as I heard, because I don't follow it) and he could collect a belt after two fights on his third fight, but I would mention here that even Lomachenko was defeated by Salido on his second bout. Salido was dirty, yesss, and it wasa pretty close fight but Salido won it and Lomachenko couldn't do any spectacular thing against him. Don't misinterprate me, I think that Loma will have a succesfull carreer and I'm quiet high on the guy but I wanted to say that this rapid carreer while it's very bold and sympathetic, can easily conatin some losses as well.
And I watched a few of Beterbiev 5 fights. I'm not that high on him yet. Gets hit relaitvely easily, sometimes throws wild, swinging hooks, his hands are down although he isn't that fast to dodge fast punches. But he has good combinations and solid jab. However his speed is mediocreat best.
And Cloud IMOis still a solid Blevel fighter + their style will be tailor made for each other and since Cloud hits big as well I favour him because his chinis provenly strong while I don't know very much yet about Beerbiev's.
So bigger professional experience, good style matchup, iron chin, big punching power and Beterbiev's lack of good defense. These are the reasosn why I think that Cloud will win but we will see.
I think that not necessairly everyone is Lomachenko who wants rapid carreer with good amateur past and comes from Ukraine or Russia and not all of them will be succesfull with this kind of carreer building. In turn it's pretty sympathetic and bold.Last edited by HEND; 09-24-2014, 12:01 PM.Comment

Been looking forward to this fight. Cloud has always been overrated but he's a solid gatekeeper that if Beterbiev blows through him, it'll be pretty damn impressive, but seeing what he's done in the amateurs, it wouldn't be surprising. Great fight.Comment

Gutsy move and should be a entertaining fight.
Beterbiev seems like he has a strong chin, good power and well conditioned for the few round he has boxed but his skills doesn't impress so much, have to wait to see but brave and exiting fighterComment

Even considering the level of competition, Cloud's last three performances were terrible. He is no longer a legit contender, imo.Originally posted by Freedom2014That's harsh. Cloud is a former world champion and has only ever lost to very good fighters.
Beterbiev has never been past the 4th round. And Tavoris has never been knocked down in a fight.
Beterbiev will get no credit form some people, too bad Cloud couldn't have had another fight with someone first so he would be coming off a win. But with Don King as a promoter, he has to take what he can get.
However a win over him would certainly be impressive for a guy in his 6th fight.Last edited by Scott9945; 09-24-2014, 10:52 PM.Comment
