He looked like a guy who is done. He had little definition compared to what he used to look like a year or so ago. Not that it would make a difference but it is an effect of him not training like he used to, partly because, as you alluded to, he no longer believes in himself. When a boxer/fighter gets to that level or mind state, they should just retire. Bute is another fighter that fits this condition. It's like there is no slight decline, it's just a complete drop off from good skill level to less than journeyman in a matter of one fight or so.

They share the same promoter...if it doesn't happen, it's because they don't want it

Cloud showed up. He just got blown the fuck out by a much better fighter as anybody with a brain could predict. War Beterbiev.

This Beterbiev dude must have some pretty good power, though.
He didn't look great against Mack, and got a controversial decision against Campillo. B-Hop made him look ******, Adonis embarrassed him, and Beterviev destroyed him. If there was ever a time for him to start questioning his career choice, it's now. This is the perfect example why a fighter doesn't keep jumping in with high-caliber opposition after lackluster performances. It doesn't help that he was with Don King, which = inactivity.

Stevenson is scared of challenges, that's all I need to know. After the Fonfara fight, he will fight with all his might to avoid a potential threat.

No he didn't man, he took several knees and got up on a count of less than 7, 8, or 9. This means he wasn't hurt as bad as people think he was, he let self-doubt creep in. Dude wasn't thrashing him with every single shot, he landed good punches but Cloud wasn't ready for a fight. Question, how many of this guy's other fights has he won by dropping the opponent 4 times in 70 seconds? Add to that the fact that Cloud was the biggest threat of his career and a seasoned former champ.....yeah, Cloud didn't show up. Not that Cloud would have won, but he wouldn't have gotten blown out in easier fashion than club fighters that are normally fed to guys with less than 7 pro fights.

***All of his prior opponents had more losses than wins.....Cloud gave up on himself, more so than he got beaten to crap.

What GYM is going to try and do is push Kovalev/Hopkins winner or Jean Pascal vs. Beterbiev to try and protect Stevenson.

They'll never match Beterbiev with Stevenson, until Stevenson is totally shot of course. But in the mean time they're going to try and use Beterbiev as a 'body guard.'
