Comments Thread For: Julian Williams' Trainer: Haymon Will Match You Tough

Al Haymon advised fighters have recently come under increased scrutiny for facing what is perceived to be less than the best available opposition. That scrutiny has picked up even more in recent weeks with some of the fights that have been televised on Showtime and Fox Sports.

One Haymon advised fighter that definitely doesn't fit that stereotype is undefeated junior middleweight prospect Julian "J Rock" Williams (17-0-1). Williams is coming off an eight round unanimous decision victory over the then undefeated Eliezer Gonzalez of Puerto Rico (14-1). In addition to beating Gonzalez, Williams 2014 is rounded out with stoppage victories over Michael Medina and Fredy Hernandez.

I think Williams and one of the Charlo twins should get it on and the winner would determine a top contender.

I think it gets blown out of proportion the power Haymon has. I think he can get networks to buy crap fights but it's up to the fighter and thier team who they pick. Al gives them names and they choose. People act like he's some sort of wizard casting a spell on fighters making them fight soft fights, when it's their team who chooses the weakest link.

Haymon is getting these guys big money so they do whatever he says. When you hear a guy like Danny Garcia say Al Haymon changed my life, that tells us that he's takin care of them financially and they will do what he wants. Just look at the Quillin situation. Dude just gave up his belt with np.

That's what i'm saying, he can get them big money probably the same to fight a crap opponent as well as a good one, but ultimately it's the fighters decision on who to pick. Unfortunately, many fighters want that easy route. Also, I place blame on the networks as well, they don't have to buy these garbage fights, I mean have some freakin pride in your network and don't churn out garbage like Garcia vs Salka(sorry Rigg I know you went to that fight, haha).

Lol I know bro..... I was there live! Everyone was calling for people to not watch the fight altogether and I was there. Cheering for Danny. Lol it was so funny. But yeah, the networks, promoters, fighters are all to blame along with uncle Al. It's just all is getting them money so they don't give a ****. Santa Cruz made $750k to fight that lame he fought on he mayhem card. I would have did the same thing. Lol
