the world cup was watched by over 1 billion people

I like both Floyd and Pac, but if we're honest Floyd doesn't even have a big fanbase.

Pacquiao could fight nobodies and people all over the world would tune in. How many people would tune in if Mayweather did the same?

Probably a lot, but I doubt as many. As TS said, 'drawing power, fanbase etc' - both of those categories, Pacquiao simply flattens Mayweather, 1st round KO.

Mayweather lives off his opponents fanbases for his big fights. They are the ticket sellers - See Hatton, De la Hoya, Maidana, Canelo, Cotto etc. They're also the ones that have PPV buying fans. Hence why Floyd has struggled in PPVs with Maidana, Guerrero, etc.

He did good with Ortiz, but they struggled selling the tickets for those other fights. And that shows Floyd's fanbase is relatively limited.

Pacquiao is more often than not the ticket seller in his fight, he's the guy people tune in to see.

Ffs Floyd has to fight on Cinco de Mayo vs a Mexican/hispanic/latino fighter to get something decent out of his fights.

If doing 800+K with those fighters is considering struggling then how do you consider those other fighters the ones selling it? What are Oscars numbers without a big name? Cotto's? Canelos? Pacquaio's? All less than Floyd's.

Of course getting two A fighters together creates the most PPV, but when fighting lesser opposition, Floyd has not drawn as good as Oscar has. Not now or at any stage in his career if you compare the two.

And all of Cotto, Canelo and Pacquiao are not American fighters, which means it's very likely their audiences are not primarily in America. Floyd is American so comparing those would be unfair as that's literally Floyd's only main market.

Floyd did really well with Mosley and JMM, because they were touted as comeback fights. Fair play to him, Oscar was still the bigger draw.

Theres no doubt that the vast majority of the people in the Philippines watched both of Pac's last 2 fights especially the Rios fight. I posted a video for proof, what did you post?

And I never said that no one overseas watchs Floyd's fights. But if you compare his numbers in his own country to Pacquiao's in his own country and its not even close. Heck, Pacquiao does roughly the same numbers Floyd does in America.

How did Oscar do better numbers? How much did he do with Mayorga? The same as Mayweather did with Maidana.

The highest PPV Oscar outside of his fight wih Floyd had was with Trinidad 1.4, Mayweather did more with Shane and Cotto.

Oscar failed to hit 1 Million numerous times. More than not actually.
