clinching is okay when you are hurt, and occassionally if thigns are getting to heated on the inside for the fighter. It is unacceptable when it is excessive or it happens anytime the fighters get close

Bottom Line once again the real problem is the lack of Inside Fighting Skill from MOST FIGHTERS today. Again if Kenny Bayless stops the action too soon it is a problem, if he tries to make them fight out like Joe Cooper or Robert Byrd does then people complain about that too so it is truly a Lose/Lose

Fighters need to take action into their own hand because Clinching is not going to go away, Clinching always been apart of Boxing

Boxing is not going to change things now so that fans favorite fighters can look better, as long as the fighter breaks when the Ref say "BREAK", not many refs are going to DQ or Deduct because of it

You P4P and you're truly as good as you're hyped up to be then you should be able to deal with ALL STYLES!
I agree that more fighters need to get creative on the inside to fend off the clinch, but usually the fighter that does get creative is already a clinch abuser, incorporating the clinch as the main means to get off his offense, like Hatton or Molina, and that is equally ugly to watch and also depends a lot on the ref. It's just hard to do for the B side as the ref will much more quickly take points away so the fighter is hand cuffed from the start.

Most clinch abusers don't have many fans so things tend to even out in a way in the end.

There should be a set limit on clinches per round, on the 3rd clinch you're docked a point.

Trouble is, referees are so corrupt you couldn't rely on them to assign the A-side a clinch in the count.

Clinching is illegal when it is excessive but what is excessive?...until they come up with a number and make it standard, there will always be controversy to it...

Also with increasing number of (so it seems)refs that break fights so easily , it beginning to seem like inside fighting is a dying style and and that swarmers have 2 opponents to worry about each time..

Clinching can be used in a sufficient and intelligent manner. It's just that most fighters and fans of those fighters don't know any better.

Only a Floydiot would post this... The one group that's defending clinching as a tactic

And only a fan of a fighter who can't find on the inside would defend the ability to not clinch. Face it, your guy can't cut off the ring, let alone box on his toes, of course he can't deal with strategic clinching. It's also the same reason BHOP is going to school the **** out of Kovalev and I'm going to laugh at you idiots for it.

                  Who is my guy?....

If your talking about Maidana, I could careless, but it's hard to cutoff the ring when it's the size of an Olympic swimming pool.. True story.

Clinching as a tactic is universally frowned upon... Have you ever heard anyone say "damn that Jon Ruiz fight was exciting" or "damn, wlad-Sasha was fight of the year"

Yet Floyd fans are fine with it,,,

James toney was a great defender but he didn't have to clinch like a hoe to stop an aggressive attack

The guys that you simpletons complain so much about with clinching, well take a look at their records.

                    Ward - undefeated

                    Floyd - undefeated

BHop - 50 years old on a streak of wins

                    meanwhile...

Maidana - 0-2 in last two fights

Hopkins wasn't a clincher till he was super old, and I give him a pass due to being damn near fifty..

He hardly clinched with Tito, who was a bigger bomber than Maidana
