Martinez was more proven at 160, yet Mayweather never entertained a fight with him when called out at 154, much less at 160.

how can you be the best if you don't fight the best? martinez didn't want to fight ggg, cotto doesn't want to fight ggg, they lose their legitimacy when there is a clear #1 guy out there and they don't fight him. you can't just hang on to a "i'm the best title" forever. you have to continually prove you're the best like in any other sport. do the world series champs say i'm the best, baseball is over, i'm only going to play little league teams now? pretty sure there is still a season next year except in boxing there is a season yet the lineal champs like martinez and cotto aren't playing in it. therefore they aren't champs anymore. in your world cotto could fight bums for ten years and still be the champ.

Floyd could still reduce his ducking reputation by about 50% if he were to fight Pacquiao and GGG at 154. If he does this he will not go down as one of the greatest duckers of all time; rather he will be thought of as someone who may have ducked a little more than usual but faced real threats on occassion.

I'm a Mayweather fan and I would not care. GGG hasn't done anything to get my hyped over some one beating him. He's too big anyway. Mayweather weighing in at 150lbs 5' 8" vs Golovkin at 5' 10" 170lbs, is just too much for a small guy. People would mention Floyd's wins at JMW against DLH, Cotto and Canelo, but fighting at 150lbs in a JMW fight does not make Floyd a legit JMW. Just like Cotto coming in at 155lbs vs Martinez, he's not a legit MW despite beating an old Ring champ coming off of surgery.

people will say that GGG got old! and that the ref was on Mayweather's side. Mayweather can go up and beat a heavyweight and people will still find some dumb negative thing to say.

therefore he doesn't even do it and just fights mediocre fighters like maidana. nothing negative to say about fighting mediocre fighters.

He'd get huge credit for making the fight but shouldn't be asked to. GGG is too big and skilled. Floyd gets KO'd in 2 or less. Health comes first, which means no GGG fight.

Duran was 37 when he took down barkley.
The first thing came in my mind. "Health comes first." Fight not happening.
