Comments Thread For: Haye: Stiverne Takes it Late or Wilder By Early KO

Former two-division world champion David Haye will be a very interested observer when Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1, 21KOs) defends his WBC heavyweight crown for the first time against mandatory challenger Deontay Wilder (32-0, 32KOs). Negotiations for the fight are ongoing, with a purse bid scheduled for October 1st.

Haye, inactive since 2012, is very close to announcing his ring return. He wants to reclaim the heavyweight title. He held the WBA's version of the title before losing it to heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko in 2011.

I've heard that Wilder apparently knocked Haye out in sparring in 2010/11 and then Haye stopped him in another sparring session apparently.

Rumours, but apparently coming from a good source.

After those two incidents, they decided to go easy on each other in prep for Tyson Fury. Or so the story goes.

I like Stiverne to give this guy the business, maybe even KO him early although i think he'll move around a bit until he settles in.

In the short sparring clip I've seen of them two, it seems they were proper going for it and both of them have ridiculous power so it wouldn't be a surprise if this was true.

Stiverne's plan should actually be to knock him out as soon as possible. He doesn't want to take 8+ rounds of shots from a guy who hits that hard and doesn't slow down.

If styverne stays on the ropes the way he did against crapreola, hes gonna get ko'd. But, he should just go attack wilder tyson style cuz wilder has a ? chin.

Schitvern vs WildTurd is a Turd joust either way, but Schitvern seems to have median boxing skills of say an ESPN Main Event fighter where as WildTurd is just a fence swinging ape that will be outboxed/outpointed/KO'd repeatedly once he starts facing top 20.

I like Stiverne. He has fast hands and good power. I expect him to KO wilder who looks like an accident waiting to happen

Well that's a pretty bloody obvious analysis from Haye really, pretty much the thoughts of everybody on the matter.
