Yup. Just like Mosley/Margarito. He beat him to the punch, smothered him, tied up up and eventually put him away.

Yeah there was barely any clinches in that fight so not sure where that post is going.

If Cotto held in the first fight he would have beaten Margarito.

Wow I gotta make a gif out of that vid. Awesome stuff lol. Maidana inflicted some serious damage on floyd for real.

And Bayless, maaaan... I lost all respect I had for him in one night. A complete 180.

exactly...Cotto played the macho game with the wrong man and paid the price.in the 2nd fight he clinched Margo and stopped him from getting forward momentum

I don't think it was a choice per say I just don't think he knew how to. He's shown signs of not being effective on the Backfoot in the past.

Same thing when he fought Pacquaio.

In the rematch I think Pedro Diaz implemented the clinching specially to stop him from getting off. That's the first time I really saw Cotto clinch often in a fight.

That's the exact reason I thought Shane would beat Margarito when they fought. If Shane could do anything that was tie his man up. He was also pretty good at landing that right hand bomb right before tieing up..

He didn't clinch that much really. When Margarito got close to him, Cotto put his head on his chest so that Margarito had no room to throw his uppercuts. Pedro Diaz produced the perfect plan for that fight, even if Margarito looked shot anyway.

the perfect plan was laid with all the *****ing and moaning about margaritos eye!

what part of margarito's I AM WILLING TO DIE to beat cotto again attitude did the nysac not get. the second cotto takes his first triple uppercut and margarito shakes off the clinch the fight is called off.

that fight belongs in this thread right alongside bayless corrupt performance!
