You're right, there is a difference. That's why one was guaranteed $8m and the other was offered $40m. And Canelo-Mayweather grossed $150m. $50m difference which definitely isn't material enough for Pacquiao to get more than 40. When are you gonna stop making excuses for Pacquiao's ducking?

I think he believe, just as Roach believes, that Arum wants to save Floyd for his last fight or one of them. So there is no use in acting like the fight can be made now.

If Mayweather was serious about negotiating Mayweather would have been talking to Pacquiao's team, not sending him text messages and posting them online for publicity sake. The offer was an insult to begin with. 40 million for a fight that would generate 300 million was not a serious offer.

Honestly, Arum has made excue after excuse. He acts like he wants the fight, then whenever the chance presents itself, he does eveything for it not to happen. I think that Floyd believed that Manny did want the fight, but was being fed nonesense by Arum and Koncz. So, what do u do if u think that? You go directly to Manny with an offer. He didn't post text messages and he didn't post the message, he called him personally and talked to him. Why go through that trouble if u don't want the fight? Pac didn't bother negotiating, and Arum was making every excuse in the book(stadium, cut, Floyd going to Prison), so Floyd moved onto Cotto(the other guy everyone swore he was afraid of). Floyd himself said that he didn't expect Pac to accept it and that they would negotiate, but he was starting a negotiation, so of course he is gonna start low, which was confirmed by Ariza.

Didn't Canelo get some ppv upside? Didn't Cotto? What is it about Pac that precludes ppv upside?

40m amounts to 29m for Pac, after Arum gets his. That's a 12% raise over his previous and next purse, for far lower profile fights. That's pathetic for a fight of this scale, both insulting and ridiculous.
