Comments Thread For: Photos: Cuellar Ends Juanma With Brutal KO in Two

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas - Jesus Cuellar (25-1, 19KOs) likely ended the career of former two division world champion Juan Manuel "Juanma" Lopez (34-5, 31KOs) with a brutal second round knockout to retain the WBA interim-featherweight championship. Juanma was hurt and getting tagged hard in the first round. By the midway point of the second both of his eyes were swollen and he took a vicious three punch combination against the ropes, which sent him crashing fast first to the mat and the fight was immediately stopped.

Sad to see man. Salido ruined Juanma. I can remember when Juanma vs. Gamboa was the talk of the forum, but thanks to Arum we never saw it. Such a shame. Hope he stays retired and can find success after boxing.

Nothing like ending a career in the prone position. He should have one farewell fight in Puerto Rico against a clubfighter so he can go out on a win.

It appears the 2 fights against Salido changed everything. Like Pacquiao ended Margarito and Martinez declined after Chavez Jr., there is always something that triggers the fall. Morales and Barrera after their trilogy also went down and Rafa Marquez and Israel Vasquez diminished after 3 rematches.
