How would Luis Ortiz do against other good heavyweights?

There are a lot of interesting matchups that could be made at heavyweight, if only the promoters and TV networks were willing.

Luis Ortiz appears to be a bona fide top ten HW and he could be in interesting, competitive matchups with people like Povetkin, Jennings, Wilder, Perez, and Fury.

He looks like he could have the goods but I will hold fire until I see him face a semi-decent HW at least.

Kayode is not very good and looked terribly undersized though Ortiz is a unit.

Ortiz is the only Cuban HW that is always in shape, it is almost a shame that he got into the game this late...

They say he is 34 but he looks older then that so he should make a move pretty quick IMO.

And he looked good against a blown up cruiser but I would like to see him in there with a really good heavy because it's hard to tell off of a one round mismatch.

But him being southpaw, a naturally big guy with power, fast hands and poise he will make for some good match ups if my instinct is correct about him.

He looks to be the goods

          Absolutely.

He looks like a fine prospect, but as Dan says, we'll need to wait until he fights another decent HW. It is a shame that promoters are allowing fighters to sit on the shelf. Who cares if they are unbeaten or not? Sometimes a loss helps a fighter in the long run, allowing them to work on a weakness hitherto unapparent or taken for granted (I.e. defence, guard, footwork).

Yes, they make too much of a loss.

In past decades, nearly all the top HWs had losses on their records, but they were still highly-regarded.

Hard to tell... We need to see him tested by some better opposition. He is already 35 so he should be fighting some top twelve guys in the near future.

Last night's fight answered no questions.

Ortiz for sure, Ruslan is faded and overweight.

Ortiz is a solid heavyweight fighter. He's got good boxing skills, he's patient and he picks his shots well, he's got good hw power and he seems to be in great shape.

I'd say he does great against some of the other top dawgs. I could see him beating Wilder, Jennings, Fury, Glaskov.

With his impressive first round knockout of Kayode, he should get back into the ring this year against a top ranked opponent.

This guy is exciting and I hope we see more of him
