Ellerbe says Mayweather is doing everything possible in the ring, and outside of the ring, to be a positive figure for the sport - but the critics continue to hammer him.

In the ring, yes Ellerbe may have point as you can tell with some of the fanatics on this board. Outside of the ring though c'mon who's he kidding. He wouldn't receive half the criticism he gets if it weren't if his out of ring antics and contradictions.

we are always trying to find ways to denigrate, to down and criticize people's accomplishments, and a lot of times its being done by people who had never even boxed before

This is true, I've never understood how people who have never boxed a day in their life call a fighter a coward.

But I guarantee that when you look at some of the lesser known fighters, they are making substantially more money since Floyd put the sport on his back.

He demanded and educated the fighters - that no longer will the promoters and the managers take advantage of the fighters. The fighters deserve to be put in the position where they earn the lion's share of money.

What a hypocrite, this the guy who said he was making more money than Robert Guerrero was for his fight with Mayweather. He's right though Robert should of been making more than Ellerbe as he was the one putting his health on the line.

With the education he also becomes the bad guy.

He chose this role, he's admitted this himself.

We must find a way to acknowledge greatness when we see it. Because when you look around, there won't be another fighter like the man sitting to my right.

I guess you could argue wether or not it's hypercritical given the context of the wording their or the and fighters deserve the Lions share. That was a disgraceful comment he made though when he told him to his face that he was making more for the fight than he was. Not something at all that should be gloated about.
