Watch the Guerrero/Mosley fights and tell me Floyd shouldn't had been deducted.Comment

Nah everybody already knows the double standards around here. Floyds elbows and forearm smashes to the face are legal "veteran tactics" but if any other fighter returns the favor its cheating/dirty.Comment

The elbows are questionable yes but that other stuff is down right dirty.Comment

Boxing sanctioning bodies consider the following types of acts or contact to be fouls in boxing:

Wrestling, kicking or roughing;
Pushing an opponent about the ring or into the ropes;
Butting with the head, shoulder, knee, elbow;
Hitting with the open glove, the butt or inside of the hand, or back of the hand, the elbow or the wrist;
Purposely falling down onto the canvas of the ring without being hit or for the purpose of avoiding a blow;
Striking deliberately at that part of the body over the kidneys;
Using the pivot blow (pivoting while throwing a punch) or the rabbit punch (punches thrown to the back of the head and neck areas);
Jabbing the eyes with the thumb of the glove;
Use of abusive language;
Unsportsmanlike conduct causing injury to an opponent that does not meet the standard of a fair blow;
Hitting on the break;
Intentionally spitting out the mouthpiece;

He pushes off or maintains distance whit his elbows, it is not an elbow strike ala Bones Jones.
And comparing the difference between what both fighters did is really absurd, but I am not going to get in some pissing match over it with anyone here because I am not a fan of either fighter and I really don't care who wins.
I like clean fighters with power and both of these guys don't fit the bill.Comment

The more I think about it, which I'll admit, hasn't been all that much because honestly, I'm not that interested in this fight. Chino is in an excellent position to score the upset. First and foremost, he has a style that is extremely uncomfortable for Floyd. Secondly, he may be catching Floyd at the absolute best time. The time where a once great fighter is still seen as great and probably isn't. He's also catching Floyd at a time where Floyd's talent and skill levels aren't so far and away greater than everyone else's that all the BS going on in his life isn't gonna affect him on fight night. And I think the wildcard may be that I think Chino got an excellent break when Kenny Bayless was named ref. Floyd has been politicking hard for this fight to be officiated stricter than the first. And while I doubt Bayless allows Chino to get away with all the foolishness of the first fight. He's not gonna kiss Floyd's ass either. Chino fought dirty no doubt. But there were times where Chino legally worked his way inside of Floyd's comfort zone and simply continued to work through Floyd's attempts to clinch, and when Floyd would complain, Weeks would break them. To me, Bayless is the best in the biz and very good about making silent deals with fighters during the fight. He's the type of ref that if Floyd starts complaining about each and everything Chino does. Bayless will make it a point to warn Floyd about his forearms for a couple rounds. Or warn him about clinching on the inside. Subliminally telling Floyd, "if you want it by the book, its gonna be all the way by the book on both sides." "Now STFU and fight."
In the end, I would be surprised if Chino won, but I wouldn't be shocked. Likewise, I wouldn't be shocked either if Floyd shows up and treats Chino like a sparring partner.Comment
