Comments Thread For: Marcos Maidana Ready To Do 'Whatever it Take' To Win

By Jake Donovan - The last time Marcos Maidana fought in rematch, he needed just 21 seconds to knock out countryman Omar Leon in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The April ‘06 battle came two months after the lone other rematch in his career, scoring a repeat 3rd round knockout of Sergio Benitez.

Leon became the first to drop the Argentine slugger, but paid the price in getting stopped in four rounds, or 10 more minutes than he lasted in the sequel. That trivia tidbit aside, neither rematch was entirely necessary. Maidana had already stopped both fighters the first time around in separate bouts in 2005.

As far as the former 140 lb. titlist is concerned, however, a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. is necessary, and a chance to improve on his competitive loss to the unbeaten pound-for-pound king.

“I think it benefits me more having a rematch with him,” Maidana (35-4, 31KOs) says of this weekend’s welterweight title fight sequel, which headlines at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. “I'm able to correct the mistakes I made in the first fight and take advantage of his mistakes.

“Even though he makes very few mistakes I already know what they are, and I think I can exploit that and take advantage of them.” [Click Here To Read More]

watching ref Bayless tonite, he is gonna break Maidana and Jr QUICK, quicklyer.

Its just real hard to buy this fight due to Jr being the main AZZZHO*E, condones beating women, crys to get his way, makes all that money then throws it back in yer face laughing at YOU all the way to the nice bank. I would buy this fight if I could just pay Maidana and team straight up.

If I just knew the judges wouldn't be in Jr's pocket and the ref will be just as hard on Jr as Maidana then I might just buy that fight but , then I think how Jr claims to be so great then makes a fighter change his gloves , just a sic sissy.

Have at it then, Bayless ain't gonna let it fly. Even Weeks admitted he did a horrible job and should have deducted a point.

And that's just in the first 30 seconds, I am not a Floyd fan but I respect what he does in the ring.

              And I hate dirty fighters.

In before the haters *but Floyd uses his elbows*

Chino needs to cut Floyd somehow. If he can do that he wins. Floyd was terrified when he was cut for half a round, worst round I've ever seen from him.
