Pete did an interview with TBV and came off like he doesn't know what the hell is going on. My take is he was simply paid not to fight.

He was asked why he gave up his WBO belt and would fight for a interm belt in the WBA and his reply over and over was that Golovkin vacated the WBA belt (like he did with the WBO), so that he wouldn't have to fight Jarod Fletcher.

He was then asked why would he pass up $1.4mill, his reply was it wouldn't be $1.4mill for him b/c he have to pay GB first. Then goes on to say the fight was worth more than that (even though GB bid less), and that he doesn't know what's next, but 2015 will be 'BIG'!
