    Roman Gonzalez interview

    http://*******.com/k46jgx9

    Recent interview with him.

I had heard HBO offered money... but I guess they went too cheap on the fight. Don't know about a million for one guy... but splitting down the middle sounds possible.

Segura/Estrada drew 22k and 13 million viewers... there is interest for these small guys.

At the very least, split a million

Good interview. That HBO offer was disgusting, glad they ignored it. My only concern is the purse not reaching the amount desired for both sides, thus causing a problem with the plans for a rematch. Roman is an awesome fighter as well as Estrada so the rematch should be the right thing to go after, especially since Roman wants to unify the Flyweight division.

However, if the previous thread of Roman wanting a 1 million dollar purse it true, I don't see it happening any time soon. Especially since Estrada is a big name and possibly bigger than Roman himself, seeing as he drew 22,000 folks and over a dozen million views on the tube. Interesting to see what Estrada would think of Roman asking for such a purse, and would he settle for less for the sake of making the fight, or would he disagree and ask for the lions share himself. Regardless I just want to see the rematch.

I think Estrada is the bigger name and has even been on HBO more recently than Roman.

Shoot, if it was stateside, the Mexican fans would be the ones driving this fight

        HBO offered $150,000 ($75,000 each) for Gonzalez-Estrada.

Seems ridiculously low considering they used to pay Andre Berto between 1.5 and 2 million dollars for fighting journeymen.

75k each is ridiculous... especially if they'll be on their airwaves. I think a million for one guy is pushing it, but their offer is ridiculous.

Wow, 75k? I am glad that they turned it down. Like I said before this fight is going to happen don't think he will get the 1 mil (even though he deserves it, IMO) but he will make good money with this fight. Hell, both fighters will.

I'm not sure it will be easy, especially now that they are both bigger names, especially Estrada. Seeing his numbers makes me think Estrada won't settle for less than Roman. It's going to be quite difficult to actually make it happen but I'm hoping for the best. Personally I think Estrada deserves the bigger share but we will see how it pans out.

That's a pretty bad offer. How much did they pay Blake Caparello?
