Floyds WBA/WBC Welterweight belts are on the line
Floyds WBC Super Welterweight belt is also on the line

His WBA 154 belt is not. The WBA have not sanctioned that belt, but the WBA Super belt has a longer time between mandatories (18 months)

He will keep his WBA belt if he wins though, like Garcia kept his titles despite the Salka fight being unsanctioned

true cuz you didnt pass the weight limit. But ummm if maidana is not rated at 154 lbs and never had a fight, I heard the only way that can happen is if a lower weight champ fights a higher weight champ or something like that

I disagree with you. If the most a fighter can weigh is 147 then it is a welterweight fight plain and simple. If the fight is for the Jr. middleweight title then the fighters are allowed to weigh up to 154 because that is the weight limit for Jr. middleweight class and it always has been. Just because superstars like Pacquiao, Cotto and Mayweather have been defending the 154 pound world titles at whatever weight limit they want be it 150, 152, 153 and now 147 doesn't make it right or legal. I think you know damn will that Jr. middleweight title fights are supposed to be fought at a weight limit of 154 or else why even have the ***ing weight class at all???????

According to Fighthype.com, Floyd Mayweather will not defend his WBA/WBC junior middleweight titles this Saturday against Marcos Maidana.

This is a outstanding message that, next May, Floyd Mayweather will take either a Canelo or a Cotto rematch...

In my opinion, Mayweather would rather look for the Cotto fight with the 154 and 160 belts on the table...
A fight that should never happen, Cotto had his chance. Cotto has enough on his place with having to fight GGG next year, and Mayweather will have his hands full with fighting Manny, then a 3rd fight with Maidana to avenge his loss, then retirement.

Step back and think for one second. My point is Floyd and his opponent, so long as they are under 154, can fight for the JMW title.

I understand your point that Maidana is a ww and hasn't earned a shot at the 154lb title.

I was simply pointing out that in your anger what you posted was wrong.

Pacquiao never defended the jr middleweight title at a catchweight but he fought Margarito for the vacant WBC Jr. middleweight title at a weight limit of 150 pounds in a fight most fans thought was a BS title fight. Pacquiao agreed and almost immediately gave up that title. Mayweather wants to keep his jr middleweight titles without actually fighting top 154 pounders. He beat Canelo at a catchweight he demanded of 152 or no fight.

maidana had his chance to. ill be watching this weekend.

May/cotto 2 should happen simply because aside from pac hes the only other fighter out there worthy of one of mays last few fights. I don't think anyone can rationally say they would know the result of the rematch. Cotto will have the chance to dethrone the king and the king will have the chance to me the middleweight champ. If you don't want to see that then I don't know what to say.

Maidana likely wil not beat may unless he lands a lucky shot. If cotto couldn't do it maidana surely wont. Ill be watching to see.

No, you are the one who is wrong. You have grown so used to fighters manipulating the system that you think it's legal but it isn't. For a fight to be a legal jr. middleweight title fight both fighters must be allowed to weigh in at 154 pounds. The fighters don't have to weigh in at 154. They can both weigh 139 if they want to and the title would be on the line as long as they are ALLOWED to weigh up to 154 pounds. If the most a fighter can weigh in at is 147 then the jr middleweight title should not be at stake because it is not a jr middleweight fight. It is a welterweight fight. By your way of thinking Mayweather could easily beat Hopkins for Hopkin's 175 pound title if they fought for the 175 pound title at a limit of 147. What the hell, they would both be will under the 175 pound limit.
