  • Comments Thread For: Ruenroeng vs. Arroyo Early Results From Thailand

Opening the telecast, Fahlan Sakkreerin Jr. and Tatsuya ***uhara battled to a draw in an entertaining junior flyweight scrap.

***uhara, fighting outside of his native Japan for the first time in his young career, was the aggressor throughout the contest but could never quite seize full control of the contest. Sakreerin Jr. once again proved to be a tough out, almost always having a response for everything his visiting opponent threw his way.

Scores weren't announced in the end, as both fighters hands were randomly raised by a cornerman in celebrating the fight literally fought on even terms. [Click Here To Read More]

Arroyo lost a close split decision. He dropped the champ in the 6th round.

Pat Russell needs 2 stopping reffing, very slow, which was why CA Commish stopped James Jen Kin...Russell would've made a good commish but somehow a limited Andy Foster from GA got it, but as of now Ando doing a very credible job...still he needs 2 bring more big-name fights to CA, on a more regular basis , IMO...

Decision was fair. Arroyo had his shot, but let too many opportunities slip away.

nycsmooth - I agree, Russell has long been done, yet keeps getting these opportunities. He did his best to keep order in the ring, but his reflexes and reaction time are just no longer there.

Arroyo won that fight, he would had gotten the nod in a other place. Just because it was close doesn't mean the decision was fair.

Well, I thought so. If it went to the cards Amnat would win, Arroyo had to KO him. Anyway good win for Amnat, his resume is getting stronger. Solid win over Rocky Fuentes, spectacular win over Kazuto and now a win against a strong contender in Arroyo. Nice. I'm sure Arroyo will bounce back.

And just because you were rooting for Arroyo, doesn't mean the decision was unfair. I thought the fact that it was a split decision was very fair. Had Arroyo won by same scores, it would've been fine as well. Close (and ugly) fight, both could've done more, but especially Arroyo, who really didn't do much at all after the knockdown. He had Ruenroeng hurt, and inexplicably let him back into the fight.

Sounds like the ref wanted to help the hometown boy to win.

This is what happens when you only fight on the road rarely. Arroyo is unbeatable in Puerto Rico, but I saw his first loss in NY, he's not the same on the road. Practice makes perfect, Pedraza doesn't stress about travel, he may not look as flashy, but his game is good anywhere.
