First off let me give the respect that is due to any professional who laces up and does what I can only dream I had pursued.

This is no disrespect to any of them, because they obviously had something and they earned it but most of the Greats or the best have beaten a lot of names or respectful names to earn the greatness.

But they're are a couple that were almost the equivalent to " one hit wonders" in music....I know it's different but just curious what you guys think.

Doesn't mean we don't like them or they straight ******.

First one for me has to be Big Bad Buster Douglas.

Well they were already known but they didn't "explode" until they embarrassed the champs, Antonio Tarver and Corrie Sanders.

Sergei liakovich springs to mind. He was never more than an average boxer at best but thanks to one great fight against lamon Brewster he will forever be renembered as a world heavyweight title holder.

There have been others but liakovich was poor before the Brewster fight, when it counted fought the way a challenger should when he's trying to rip a title away from someone, then was back to being poor in his first defence.
