Shut up Ortiz, you knew you would get KO'd badly so you waited for the ref to wave it off!

****** comments by him he knew he was out of his depths.

The ref saved you an @ss kicking...personally I wouldn't watch a rematch. The look on his face when he got hit to the midsection tells you even if the fight went on he wasn't going to do much but be defensive. You wait until the count of 9 and then claim you could've been up in 7, well that's your own fault you lost. People can make an argument about there being 8 seconds or 5 seconds or 2 seconds left in a fight, no different than Taylor vs Chavez..the Referee isn't focused on what time is left for the bell when a fighter is down. I actually thought Ortiz would beat Matthysse and he went and fked up instead.

According to the rules, he didn't. Ref was 100% in his right to wave it off.

                  Rising is not up.

If it was just a matter of the count, then the ref made a bad call and should have let him continue. Generally he WAS up before 10 was counted. At worst, he was up AS 10 was counted (and then only because the ref sped up the count between 9 and 10). And in such instance, only a biased or ****** ref would stop the fight.

However, it's a moot point. Ortiz spit out the mouthpiece, so he doesn't deserve any benefit of the doubt. Ref could have stopped the count right there and either called it a TKO or even disqualified him for spitting out the mouthpiece.
