  • Comments Thread For: Mayweather: First Maidana Fight Was Not Even Close

Floyd “Money” Mayweather (46-0, 26 KOs) says the first fight with Marcos “El Chino” Maidana (35-4, 31 KOs) was a one-sided affair. Mayweather won a twelve round majority decision. One judge scored a 114-114 draw, while two others had scores of 116-112 and 117-111 for Mayweather.

A rematch is taking place, for Mayweather's WBC/WBA welterweight and junior middleweight titles, on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather says the only reason he agreed to a rematch is because "the fans demanded it."

Floyd is being honest for once. 9-3 or 8-4 at most.. Still not sure why we have to sit through this rematch when he could have taken on a young stud like Keith Thurman.

fight could have been a draw, people give floyd way too much credit in rounds, a guy has to dominate him in a round to win it seems, but floyd just has to stand there smiling and touching guys with arm punches

alot of toss up rd's, but the max you could have floyd winning is by 2 rd's

So what's the point of the rematch if he doesn't think the first fight was close?
