Good find. Interesting that both weighed in the same at fight night.

I've always thought about it, Maidana is a BIG welterweight, the dude could easily fight on Jr. Middleweight, that's why he carries a lot of power. the problem with Maidana is his technique, he's a very sloppy fighter, Canelo has an excellent punching technique, I would say alone on weight and size Canelo has only a little more power than Maidana but the big difference comes with technique, Canelo really needs to pivot and use waist movement to deliver his big punches.

Canelo punches harder than Maidana but the difference comes within technique not weight.

Marquez has one of the best punching techniques on the boxing history, that's why the dude KO's guys who are bigger than him. but with Marquez there's another factor, I wouldn't call him a cheater, but things has pointed that he could be using some substances.

obviously strength wont help if all you're gonna do is sit back and not land punches

if canelo had even fought floyd like he fought lara, it would have been a much more interesting fight, but he wasn't even at that level of strength yet vs floyd, this new strength of his whether from a new training regimen or w/e else, only came about after the floyd fight, vs angulo

it came from fighting at his optimal weight...

I don't care what Floyd worshipers think --and Canelo's as well for that matter too--, but I am sure there was a fix in both Floyd-Canelo and Canelo-Angulo fights.

Canelo, drained or not, has never ever looked as slow, clumsy, robotic and even a bit cowardly against any one, except that Floyd "fight". Same thing as Angulo, who was throwing pillow punches all night, it was ridiculous. But the public wants to see the bigger star win, and the haters of the star want to keep going to see him, to witness the first time he gets knocked down, right?
