Garcia is a great counterpuncher, Pac would wobble if Garcia lands a good looping right on his azz, and Garcia is a bigger NATURAL welterweight, he's no margarito or Rios, Garcia counters with that right better than anyone Manny has faced, ya'll can be incredulous all ya'll want but Pac has weaknesses when he gets aggressive and Danny will light his azz up...Pac's aggression would get his little azz laid out....real talk Danny has one of the best rights in boxing ya'll will see

Yea, Pac would box circles around Garcia, it'd be easy work.

This is why Roach wants him, style-wise, this is a good fight for Pac.

But, there's no way Arum splits promotional fees with GB, unless it's Floyd Pac. Am I crazy, or is there no way in hell this happens?

I'm a big Manny fan, but this is a dangerous fight.

Manny doesn't look like his old self since the Margarito fight, maybe he went too much in weight or the wars he was involved in earlier in his career are catching on to him. Plus, he's gotten older and, despise having very underrated boxing skills, his biggest attribute was his explosiveness and blazing speed.

He's not that fast anymore and not nearly as explosive. Yeah, he hit Bradley with a 10 punch combination, but that didn't have much power behind it.

Pacquiao is a ATG, that's why he was able to beat Bradley. But he's not the same guy who destroyed Morales, Cotto, Hatton and Dela Hoya.

Pacquiao should be the favorite, but Danny is young, fresh and punches hard.

I think it would be quite a nice accomplishment, specially late in his career.

Danny counters better than Marquez, Barrera and Morales?

          Please, shut up.

So now that the so called cold war is over and golden boys hold stable of welter weights are open, Pac now wants to drop down in weight?
pacquiao fights established fighters, marquez and bradley are tested and proven, thurman is not, porter just lost, mayweather doesn't want to fight, maidana although he's never beaten anyone really, has established himself as a worthy candidate but is fighting mayweather

the only person is brook, who's absolutely massive even by weltweight standards and would be a test for pacquiao, but again, if pacquiao chooses garcia what's the problem when garcia has a much better resume than brook

oh and bradley also beat abregu at 147
oh and the ped accusations started around 2009-10, pac fought, clottey, mosley, margarito, all of which campaigned at 154+. massive even for welters, even bradley has fought above 147, so i dont know about this "he's not a real welterweight, if he can't hang it's because of the competition, but because of the weight

Good argument. I appreciate your thought out response even if I don't totally agree. This is how a debate should be, not the immature responses from one fan base to the other.

But I don't think that beating Alexander at 140 and beating Abregu means that you are tested and proven at WW. Don't get me wrong, I thing Bradley is a good fighter, but he nor Marquez really belong at WW. And I think Marquez is clearly one of the best fighters of our era. Pac has been campaigning at WW for years now, and for the past couple of years the excuse for him not fighting the top WW in the division was because of the cold war. Now the whole stable has opened up and for those in the GB stable like Thurman, Porter Brook, Maidana, Guerrero, and even Berto they have been or currently are World Champions in the WW division. That to me is tested and proven. And I would much rather see Pac vs any of them rather than Garcia. Not that I don't think Garcia is a good fighter, but he's a Jr. WW and I want to see the WBO WW champ fight other WW's.

As far as the PED accusations go, they did start around 09-10 , but fighters did not start to really push for it in their fights until around 11'. And since then the only true WW Pac has fought was a washed up Mosley. And Pac has yet to score a KO of these smaller guys. Now I'm not accusing Pac one way or the other, but with everything that happened during the first negotiations, and his sudden absence of power it does look su****ious to me.

Gracia is a solid mid range hooker. No more, no less.
                Herrera clearly showed his limitations.
At most, Garcia just might catch Pacquiao... I said he might...

I like Danny Garcia but I would advise Angle to keep Danny as far away from Pac as possible. That's a little beast!

Roach is the biggest fraud in the sport....he's a ****ing con man...nothing more!!...that ninja was on Floyd's top...talking all kinds of tough ****, then turns around and says he'd rather see Young Swift counter hook the legend into retirement after he's revived from another episode of UNCONSCIOUSNESS!! LOL

Roach must think he's more powerful than Uncle Al...has Pac ever fought a Uncle Al fighter?!?....Roach can want all day, Unc is the shot caller and I would love to see Swift go at Pac....hell yeah!!....BHop isn't the only fighter with the age disadvantage...time to run the old legends up outta here right?!?

This has been the target for a while now. Roach wanted Garcia before Algeri and Bob Arum said "nope." Now it seems Oscar is on board too:

                      September 2, 2014

"I've talked to Bob Arum several times (recently)," said De La Hoya, trim, patient, engaged, clear-eyed, in better command at the podium overseeing the presser than he'd been just last month, today. "And I'm meeting with Arum next week."

Pray tell, do you have a set agenda, a list of co-promotions you'd like to do? "We're on the same page on a Manny Pacquiao versus Danny Garcia fight," Oscar said. "That would be a good first start, wouldn't it?" he said to me, locking in eye contact with the certainty of someone who knew he didn't have hijinks to keep under wraps, or was engaging in behavior that could and did conjure self loathing spells.

All the talking about Mayweather is just hype, and TR talks it up everytime before Floyd fights.
