Because there isn't a Frankie Genaro to challenge him. No USA station will cover him, we have no fighters to beat him with. Giving us nothing to gain and zero chance.

Still waiting for the day BoxNation expands globally or something pops up onto TV that covers strictly boxing 24/7 as a global sport. The sport needs coverage, it is too prestigious to not be noticed by the general public.

Sadly I think it's just his size and having to fight in Japan or in places with different time zones.

I really hope that if El Gallo wins tonight, that they make Gonzalez-Estrada 2 for the undercard of a BIG PPV. Both of these guys are elite fighters and deserve the biggest stage to showcase their skills.

Arum should step up his undercard game just once before he leaves this business.

Get Gonzalez and Golovkin on a Pac undercard, that would be ****ing amazing.

calderon was rarely, if ever on the major networks.

ricardo lopez' prime was before my time, but he was certainly never a star.

why do you bring them up? surely you don't think they were stars...

The networks SHOULD have had them on.

They sure were a lot more entertaining to watch than Andre "Headbutt & Clinch" Ward.

Yes it's a shame no one writes about him. I wouldn't know who he is and how great he is if it wasn't for a countryman of mine who happens to be Chocolate's greatest fan, he wrote about him on his blog a year ago. I suppose Ricardo Lopez is better known because he fought on some huge cards, he in fact boxed on a few tyson's fight nights. Anybody know was he signed to Don King, too?
PS just a minor correction - el finito won a (light) flyweight title, and have been a minimumweight champion for years before moving to light flyweight...

there is this strange thing in boxing/life called favoritism. floyd beat genaro hernandez, angel manfredy, and justin juuko and he was p4p #2 and on hbo every fight. gonzalez has won 3 belts in 3 divisions, beat the #1 guy in 2 of them and beat estrada who's #2 right now...and he's p4p #9 and no where to be seen on tv.
