Comments Thread For: Matthysse: I Learned A lot From Loss To Danny Garcia

Lucas Matthysse has a penchant for fighting the most dangerous punchers in the sport.
Whether they are unbeaten or not, Matthysse brings out the best in them. Then again, Matthysse imposes his strength and will, finding a way to grind out a win.

He is in for another tough fight when he faces another unbeaten and hard-hitting fighter on Saturday night, when he faces Roberto Ortiz in a 12 round bout at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The bout will precede the main event bout between Adrien Broner and Emmanuel Taylor and will be televised live on Showtime, beginning at 9:30 p.m. ET/ 6:30 p.m. PT.

Of course he learned a lot,Daniel son wouldn't be much of a teacher if he allowed his pupils to wander around naive. He was humbled and broken by a better fighter no shame in that.

We know you won that fight champ. Overcoming low blows, freak accidents, headbutts... Legendary stuff.

Its very rare for an eye to balloon up like that, thumber's luck. Danny is avoiding the rematch like a plague, he knows lightning doesnt strike in the same place twice. He is getting KOd hard in a rematch.

If rematch happens, Matthysse better hire some shaolin monk to learn a secret ancient technique "iron eggs". Danny is a very dangerous balls-puncher.

Matthysse has taken the loss like a man.

Shame his fans are such females.

You know, Matthysse does have a lot of fights but experience wise I think he was still a rookie. I think the Garcia and Molina fights were good for him cause he never faced adversity like that. His fight always ended quick or he would dominate. IMO a fighter should always face some type of adversity in his career. The one time his eye did get messed up the fight was stopped as well (in his favor). Unfortunately these 3 learning experiences came a little too late in his career.

With that said, I hope his team learned something as well. Cause they did a HORRIBLE job with that eye. But the same thing I said above can probably be said about his team.

EDIT: Maybe "rookie" was a poor choice of word. :P

I advise Matthysse to consider if he wants anymore kids before rematching Garcia. His balls need be weary.

He should invest in one of these.
