Why do people say this? He's very average. His greatest asset is his handspeed, and he doesn't even take advantage of it. Other than that, what are all of these talents people speak of? His defense is garbage. Footwork is crap. So where do people get the idea that he's so talented?

He's accurate. He puts his shots together well. And he has respectable power. Add handspeed to those things and you have a good fighter.

His style is all wrong though. He fights out of a philly shell yet has no counterpunching instincts. He's stationary yet has no real ability to anticipate or slip shots.

He's an offensive fighter who waddles around the ring trying to hold a defensive posture. It looks ridiculous, but then he vaguely looks like Floyd to a casual audience and that seems to be more important.

yeah hes not as naturally gifted as advertised but hes got talent, very flat footed and doesnt throw enough

Watch him throw a combination (which isnt too often) and tell me hes not ATLEAST top 5 active fighter in that category.

If you can't see that then your hate for him is so big that it isn't letting you see it.

I think what bothers me is the fact he rarely lets his hands go now. Like the posters above said he tries to fight defensively when he is great offensively. He's got fast and heavy hands for a welterweight. It just makes no sense why he fights the way he does

he is a talented athlete. he was freaking scary at 130. dude could hit with fight changing power, had speed. he also had a very strong guard / defense. chino at 147 was able to break through it. against guys at 130, it was much, much stronger.


broner's talent / potential may have been a bit of a mirage at 130, given his size adavantage. that said, he's still very clearly an athletic guy. he has speed. he has an athletic background.

his problem comes with his boxing skills. in that area, he's pretty ordinary. if his little shoulder roll ins't working, he's not effective.

broner's talent / potential may have been a bit of a mirage at 130, given his size adavantage. that said, he's still very clearly an athletic guy. he has speed. he has an athletic background.

his problem comes with his boxing skills. in that area, he's pretty ordinary. if his little shoulder roll ins't working, he's not effective.

He was much bigger than his opponents at 130. When he fought someone good, PDL, who came UP in weight to fight him, even then his punch effectiveness was dramatically reduced.
