it's obvious that the punches he's taken will have had an effect on him at this stage in life, but years down the line is when boxers truly start to become "demented." slurred speech, loss of motor function, we see these things in recently retired fighters. it's the delusions, mood swings, etc, that appear to take longer to set in.

neither of us are in his shoes, as you said, but i don't think we can blame boxing entirely for a 34 year old, who still has enough left to get fights, burglarizing a house.

Exactly, I was also not blaming his dilemma solely on the Trauma incurred from boxing and I was also unaware of the drug habit he had but still like Jesus said in a prior post that I am shocked was actually not negative, the addiction plus the damage he has taken is a terrible combination.

Fighters like DLH and Maidana can go toe to toe and still slip punches and change levels.

As a long time fan of MK this is terribly sad and disappointing. I pray this is not some descent into the black hole that claimed his brother. He is a husband, a father and a son and here's to hoping this episode of impaired judgement begins and ends here...
